It’s no secret that COVID-19 has forever changed the way we travel. And now there is data to show that.

Airbnb released the top three trends that will redefine travel in 2021, and many of the forecast trends – driving-friendly travel destinations, remote working, and pod travel with family and friends – are an extension of the way people do the year In 2020, travel for the ride, because more has been foreseen on the horizon for a long time. And while 2020 saw an increase in solo travel and isolated adventures, 2021 shows that people want to be more connected. Whether it is traveling close to family members or quarantining yourself with a group of friends, Airbnb explains that “pod” travel is for those who want to be together safely while also taking the risks of being with them Want to reduce connection with socializing with others.

All hope is not lost for exotic travel destinations and long journeys. Airbnb research shows people still have wanderlust to travel abroad after COVID. “When the pandemic is over and travel restrictions are lifted, travelers may travel to vibrant cultural centers, idyllic archipelagos and ethereal natural wonders first,” says Airbnb. Most popular travel destinations include Bogotá, Colombia; Seoul, South Korea; and Hampton, London.
